Gravatar I just discovered Ted.com recently and have thoroughly enjoyed its content. This is but one example of the future of the web. It is good.

While I would see Apple's sponsorship as relevant, it is even more interesting to note the promotion that is receives for free. It is my guestimate that over half of the presenters already use Mac. Think about that. Nearly half of the world's brightest, most creative people use Mac.

This maps closely with recent reports of Apple's strong sales in the academic market. Given Apple's marketshare at just over 6%, this indicator shows the Mac is winning the hearts and minds of the world's most respected and creative individuals. That alone ins a lesson to ponder. Don't think it goes unnoticed by program viewers.

Gravatar Nice article, Carl. I too eagerly await the TED podcasts which in 2006 really raised the bar for "anywhere, anytime" video of niche materials that would never see the light of day in LCD-based mainstream media.

Jeff Han is getting a second run, having had a nervous start the last time, then wowing the crowd not with what he said, but what he did. And now we see that technology finding its way into a piece of technology almost all the TED attendees will be wanting (plus the rest of us).

Think of TED as product placement for Apple, as occurs in Hollywood feature films. One of these days I'll scrounge up the $9000 Aussie (airfare+TED_ accomm) to get to see TED in action.

Until then, more Google Ads and blogging!
