Gravatar I find it unfathomable how one can access over 1 million songs from any service using any available UI on a phone. Search is useless if you can't spell the name of the band. I would easily spend more time looking for music than listening... It's so absurd that I can only imagine how good the sales job was to even get the funding to start such a business.

Gravatar Excellent analysis. I don't think consumers are as concerned about renting or owning as they are about the total out-of-pocket cost. This service is too expensive. Check out the Ad-Supported Music Central blog:

Gravatar I personally like the music rental model for many reasons. I use Napster and like it. 4mm songs. 3 desktops and 3 mobile devices (a no-brainer for families). One year free with ATT mobile contract. For those of us with no pirated library to draw upon, no intention of pirating in the future, no desire to lug bulky CDs around, and the realization that technology will render all the music files one owns obsolete in a few years Napster makes a lot of sense.
