"Whoever thought up this rebranding program should be banned from ever doing marketing again."
It is not so bad marketing. Like anyone knows what Playforsure is.
Certified for Windows logo has been in use for a long-time for software and hardware for Windows. When someone sees the logo, they know it works with Windows.

Doesn't everything work with Windows anyway? I don't know why any company would choose to partner with Microsoft - how much back-stabbing can people handle?

This seems so ridiculous and confusing that I keep thinking the journalism world MUST have this story wrong.
This is the MS that touts its abilities to work with partners? Work over and extract the economic life from partners, yes, they're quite good at that. Though not in this market.

So if PlaysForSure is now is now Certified for Windows Vista, does that mean I can play WMA DRM music bought from Napster on this business card scanner?
