Taste may come into play. Yahoo's latest incarnation makes the veins bulge on my forehead. You go to click on mail or weather-- and it MOVES. It's more a bad practical joke than a home page. Google is-- serene, but data rich and efficient. Have you checked out finance.google.com--visually stunning?
