WSJ readers probably have higher than average income demographic.
DS Lite is second to last in the survey, but it is a big hit. You hear how Nintendo Wii is such a big hit. But Nintendo DS Lite is even a bigger hit although it does not get much buzz. Wikipedia says it has sold 34 million units in a year and a half. Amazing numbers for such a simple under-powered device. It is rank #3, 8, and 18 on Amazon's Video Games bestsellers list.
Zune 30 Brown is surprisingly still #1 on Amazon's MP3 player list.

The Zunes are surprisingly high perhaps because no iPods are on the wish list. Sure, readers can vote for write-in candidates, but that's not the same.

This is a flaw in the list of gifts. iPods, which are a separate category, are not included.
iPods, especially the nano and iPod Touch are likely to out do the Zune, their main competitor in the MP3 player product category.
Inclusion of the iPod as a choice in the poll might further skew the results toward Apple as the big winner this shopping season.
