I don't think it is only marketing that separates Nokia's phone from Apple's iPhone. The iPhone is more than the sum of it's parts because of it's simplicity and seamless integration, even if it lacks 3G, GPS and other features. The video doesn't quite show enough to know in this case but nobody has been able to dethrone the iPod with a good knockoff yet. Apple constantly innovates so I'm not worried. There is no way to win a knockoff battle against an innovator.
As an Apple investor, I think I'll just ignore this. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If anything, this just makes the "real thing" that much more desirable.

Hey, if you have Nokia phones, why don't you have Nokia stock? It would have been a good way to make up for the cost of the Nokia phones. Nokia's stock has been doing rather well this year.
Nokia is going to be at a disadvantage making a really powerful smartphone to compete with the iPhone using their Symbian OS compared to OSX.
Other than that, Nokia will continue to gain market share over the other top five cellphone vendors.

Who says European and American marketing is the same? For example, British and Americans have different taste in humor and music.
Touchscreen phones are not new in Europe. LG Prada was announced in 2006 released in beginning of 2007. So the wow factor of touchscreen is not the same.

Excellent observations. Plus note that the demo video didn't show anything new - it was a "me-too but not-now; later someday" which doesn't do much for Nokia's brand, for even lowly Creative can copy Apple.
One thing though: We don't know if Nokia used that goodwill advantage, and tried their hardest to move the carriers to make music downloads easier and cheaper. Maybe they did and the carriers rebuffed them. However, I doubt they did because the store itself is just not that impressive (i.e., If I was a carrier about the give up my own walled store and go into partnership with Nokia on downloads, I would've expected something more.)
Same for Microsoft. It didn't seem that MS did their best (Playsforalmostsure) for the music player hardware mfrs.
Truly, Apple has wrecked havoc with them.

The iPhone is a crippled piece of shite for dumbass Americans. Maybe European Mactards will buy it but it's not the retarded US market.

It's funny, no it's down right pathetic that nobody ever rememember to mention that the greatest Apple "inventions" are copied from true innovators. Xerox GUI ended up in Mac and there were handheld mp3 players long before the iPod. If you forget about these innovations and the clever marketing schemes what is left of Apple achievements?
