Yes, Apple HDTV: Apple knows that it's selling screens—big (TV), medium (PC) or little (iPod). But it ain't the screens ultimately; it's about the content that we can acquire, navigate, enjoy, and share using screens.
Apple made it's move on the little screen market at the right moment, when the music content was in chaos. And with the Apple HDTV, it will bring its talent at providing content solutions to the big screen HD craziness.
Once the big and little screen markets, along with their respective content links, are secured, the medium screens will follow well enough.

They could also conceivably give away some iPhones during WWDC - to their highest-level ADC attendees, to the winners of the annual Design Awards,or just to any group of WWDC attendees that they want.
Think about the buzz involved there: give the sh!t-hot new product and the first release of the iPhone Developer Kit to the people who will use it.
Apple does not view this device as just a cell or smart phone, but as a mobile Internet device and communicator.

Yeah considering that Jobs doesn't want third-party applications on the iPhone to not bring down the entire network (retard), the best time is the developer conference to unleash it. Think different.

The developer conference is for developers, not the general public. Of course, anytime Steve speaks in public he gets attention. I don't see a problem with the iPhone being released that day. It could be a nice bit of excitement for the keynote.
I do see a conflict between the release of the iPhone and OS X Leopard. Leopard will be released about two years after Tiger was released. Apple will not want to have the iPhone steal any limelight from Leopard. If 6/11 is the true date for the iPhone then I'd expect to see Leopard come out a few weeks earlier.
The last three releases of OS X were released on a Friday not. If the same holds true then look at a Friday night a few weeks ahead of WWDC for Leopard to come out.

If it's announced at WWDC, then there will probably be an iPhone Developer Kit, to be used in the same manner as developing software for a game console.
Generating all that buzz among developers will be Apple's way of saying in-your-face to all those critics like Sebhelyesfarku who can't seem to think different about what a real smartphone should be.
