Interesting, my TiPB 1Ghz, hasn't shown any problems with Leopard other than the 2-bar wifi issue. I'll give your recs a try.

I had similar issues on my macbook pro of constant lost connections which would restore after 10+ apple+R clicks, very frustrating... I stumbled across this which now gives me 100% connection with no dropouts.
open terminal and ping your routers IP address. keep the terminal open, happy surfing. Works for me.

Quit adding crap to an already overloaded internet. Saying that you fixed your problems helps no one. We're happy for you , but it seems that hundreds of you are just typing these "simple" fixes with words that make no sense to the common people. Manually fix the DNS? WTF is that?

I had the exact same problems with networking when I upgraded from 10.3 to 10.4. I had to recreate everything to get it to attach to my private network automatically.

I have a macBook Pro 2.3 and truly, I'm having to reboot my machine at least twice a day to resolve wireless networking issues, my low battery warning stopped popping and machine just shuts down. I was told that most issues can be resolved by activating a new account, so i did. low battery warnings are back but wifi network drops are very frequent and it's driving me nuts...
I think Leopard is still in the works and I'm hopping that we will see the proper updates from apple soon.

Unfortunately my problem is that airport self-assigns the IP address and is wishy-washy with wireless network connections.
I've yet to figure it out.
It's now been too, too many months.
