From what I've seen of the ads, they use some of the same storylines as their US counterparts. Much as I like the originals, I would like to see the British duo perform something that was specific to them and their brand of humour. The same goes for the comic talent of other countries - give them their own scripts and you'll see them in their true comedy colours, so to speak. Interestingly, I showed the ads to my children and they both said that David Mitchell put them in mind of Stephen Fry, another great comedy actor. I can see the resemblance, the irony being that Stephen Fry is something of a Mac evangelist.

I just watched the whole set of US and UK ads with my daughter. We thought the US ones were becoming increasingly unfunny and dull; in contrast, the subtle changes in the UK scripts really brought the humour out of them and made us laugh out loud several times. Well done to Apple for spotting the cultural difference. I just wish we could actually see some of the ads on TV rather than on Apple's website. We get iPhone ads here and sometimes iPod ones, but Mac ads are very seldom shown.
