After having sold cell phones for a stint at a big box electronics retailer years ago, the fact that Apple has set up this activation system in iTunes (and, judging by the video, it's as straightforward as can be) is seriously impressing me. Normally a major hassle, they've made sure the entire iPhone experience reflects the Apple approach. It's just awesome, and about time!
So does this mean anyone can walk into a store, buy the phone and not activate it? If so what are these going to sell for on ebay? Will you be able to return the phone if you have not activated it?
