Nice to know nothing has changed with ATT customer service over the last 10 years.

I had to swap out my blue sim for a new orange one too. I was still milking the $99/mo unlimited talk plan which the contract expired on years ago. When I changed over to the orange sim, I had to change my plan since they were not going to give me the same deal I had before (I think that's why AT&T had to sell their wireless division). I was told by the salesperson that if I didn't do anything by March at&t was going to shut off ALL of the blue sims. I don't know if that's BS or not but the salesperson was very nice and gave me a whole bunch of free stuff for my old phone.

People have NO CONCEPT about how this will change media, wireless, telecom top to bottom.
It'll be like the "Curse of Bladeruuner"

By the way, the salesperson told me the same thing about the old ATT SIMs: the old blue network will be shut down in March 2008.

Awesome job on this entry. Love the gleeful unboxing photos. Keep up the great work -- you're on the leading edge of a sea change that others will identify in the months and years to come.

Love the look on your son's face. that's one feeling we Apple fans know all too well. That price drop after he had been saving up for so long must have felt like a second Christmas.
I've bought iPods and the original PowerBook 12" from the Apple refurb store, and no problems. I think it's a great way to save some cash, much like how a car drops in price the second it leaves the showroom.

Excellent pics! So nice to see a teen smile!
Experience like night and day. Yep, AT&T and Apple are antonyms.

And this--this "customer-hostile, Cingular-by-any-other-name-still-sucks" service--is why I will not be buying an iPhone until T-Mobile or at least Verizon can service me. I've owned Apple towers and laptops and ipods since forever and love the quality of their products, but began to question seemingly solid Apple after exclusively partnering with AT&T...bad move.
