Stock market has been steadily going up for four years. 5%-15% declines are good for the market. Those asking why the market is currently struggling have a short-term view and probably trade stocks.
The media likes to spread gloom and doom when the markets "plunge". That is a short-term view. Do not panic. For most people, it is better to buy some more of that balanced mutual fund when markets decline.
