Their was an interesting comment in a recent Fortune article regarding Apple's opportunity selling software thru iTunes.. The iPhone and the certainly more numerous iPod Touch (can be sold worldwide---no carrier needed) will have add-on programs available beginning in 2008. Distribution will likely be through iTunes. A stream of $'s from servicing millions of touch screen devices should be considered. I am guestimating that at least 3 programable iPods will be sold for every iPhone.
Say that by the end of calendar 2009 only 20 million iPhones and 50 million programable iPods are in the wild (conservative IMO) and on average each generates only $10 of revenues for Apple, that would add up to significant high margin revenues not factored into any projections I have seen to date.
What do you all think?

Apple is showing amazing growth. Six percent a month? Astounding! Look for Leopard's release to add to the software coffers.
