Apple is taking this marketing stuff seriously. I'll bet there were a lot of iPhone inquiries today after numbers posted from Apple’s June quarter. Great to see the stock availability. Tough to have more than a hundred percent!

Hi Blackfriars,
I really love reading this blog but it's starting to feel a little iPhone-obsessive. I used to look forward to the insightful articles (about Apple in particular, but also about other companies) but now I'm thinking of unsubbing from the RSS feed as the number of iPhone updates is way too high for me. This blog is no longer even ostensibly generalist. I wonder if others feel the same way? Is this the intention of the blog, to continue in this way?
If iphone availability is still noteworthy, and still has marketing or analytical value, then may I suggest that a weekly summary may be sufficient now? Or perhaps a different RSS feed for those who want daily updates of availability?
I 100% understand that it's your site and you can do what you want with it; but I thought you might appreciate a little constructive criticism before I unsubscribed. I mean absolutely no disrespect.
Cheers
Mark

Hey Mark,
No worries, I've been feeling the same way. And now that iPhone availability is at 100%, I'm going to stop the regular updates, as I expect that level to remain. I just wanted to get through the first month, because having that data is useful for future launches.
So look for a cool wrap-up of the availability blitz next week.

Hi Carl,
Good to hear! Blackfriars is one of the better blogs and it made me sad to think about leaving. But I see that things have already changed. As Mr Burns might say: eeeexcellent.
cheers,
Mark

Linux internet devices are coming. They could be an indirect competitor to iPhone. The devices would allow email and web browsing. People want mobile internet, they do not really need a phone.
