Funny, isn't it? To those who don't know this: MSFt has a big stable of "journalists" they pay to trash anything Apple. Nokia is not worthy of this kind of special treamnet.
One important distinction that you've conveniently left out..the $599 pricetag for the iphone ALSO came with a MANDATORY data plan to the tune of $60/month minimum (for crappy EDGE speed service...WTF!!) and a 2-yr commitment to AT&T. THAT is what people were complaining about (well, there are always whiners but the "informed" people were complaining about)...the high price of an unlocked phone that came with the same strings of a subsidized "free" phone from a mobile provider.

haha.. I agree w/ you guys... they ALWAYS left out the fact that u have to sign up w/ them in order to get that phone. And it was saying that the iPhone is better? come on now, no 3rd party app.?? Yeah, it's good for browsing internet, but they also forgot to mention that it's easy to hack on that phone, since "apply iPhone security hole is now official" has been public... And it's stupid enough to compare iPhone w/ the N95-3... u understand that the N95-3 is specially made for US? if u wanna compare, trying comparing how much the 1st N95 were sold. Oh, and I forgot to mention, "reader's dream phone" of the year is the N95, on that list of "phone of the year" I cant' seem to find "iPhone" anywhere no matter how many time I've read it hahahh ... the list goes on buddy...
