Apple's estimates were 54 to 56 cents, analysts expected 63 and the actual is 87 to 89? That's a HUGE delta. Tomorrow will be interesting!

Yeah, the big deal was low component costs. Gross margins of 35+%! Yowza. They killed the numbers.

I'm writing a piece today about the big surprises and the implications of the new amortization scheme. They just reinvented the telephone and TV industries, so that deserves comment.
