Hi Reese, there are many variations of trifles. The ones here in England are layers of sponge cakes, fruits, and cream. Some like your colleague would put alcohol (spirits) in. But for me, this recipe from a US magazine is one of the best ones I've tried.
wow that looks gorgeous. i would be lined up with the kids having a bit of it. you know... is trifle usually alcoholic because a lady at work made one and it was drenched in rum. quite good.
MrsT & Stel: You girls should try doing this. It's quite easy to make. 
Watson: Oooh, strawberries from Baguio! They're smaller but very sweet. I miss the strawberry jams from the valley.

Hello Celia! Incidentally, my mother-in-law arrived last friday and brought with her strawberries! Kaya lang my wife had already mixed-in cream and condensed milk! Sayang. Anyways, there'll be a next time.
