Gravatar Wow Prac, you are brave! congratulations is in order for making an opera cake! And that coconut flavour would be just fab.

Gravatar Thanks so much for this post! My husband and I made this for my birthday (well, he made it; I helped).

I am actually eating it right now. It's sooo delicious and decadent. I wasn't sure I would like the lemon with the white chocolate, so we used a dash of coconut extract in the relevant places instead.

I think it's probably the most ambitious baking project we have ever attempted, and luckily it turned out wonderfully.

Gravatar Your cake looks really good! Great job on your first challenge.

Gravatar You're back with a vengeance! :D sorry haven't been by lately, I missed your comeback.

I hate that I didn't do this challenge. Your opera cake looks delicious! You did a wonderful job. I'm still going to attempt this one, even though it's too late to post as a DB challenge. I'll be working on this month's challenge this weekend. I can't wait to see yours!

Gravatar Looks just wonderful! I think it is just right. I ended up accidentally doing the same thing you did with the glaze and mine was not as good as yours.

Gravatar I think your opera cake looks divine. Congrats on your first DB challenge, and your mastery of the infamous opera cake. Yeah for newbie DBers! I am one too

Gravatar Actually your cake looks to be quite the resounding success. Congrats on the completion of your first challenge. I agree that white chocolate is quite annoying to work with at times. I used Valhrona and was lucky to have no problems this time. That wasn't the case when I make the cheesecake pops!

Gravatar Congrats on your first challenge. It was a doozy but you did great!

Gravatar Your opera cake looks perfect!

Gravatar You did such a great job on this cake - look at those perfectly straight cuts...I'm jealous.

Gravatar Your cake looks lovely. You know I've found that I learn more from my failures than from my successes. I learned a lot on this cake.
