You got me misty-eyed with the steamed fish shot...I just moved to Vancouver after 12 years living in Hong Kong (Manila is where I was born). Chinese food in HK is among the very best!
Love your blog

hi rabbittrick yes the salt did the trick. The recipe's aim is to keep the colour light so it avoided the soy sauce.

I love chinese food exclusively, but I always find there is a huge difference between home-cooked chinese food & haute restaurant chinese cuisine. home-cooked is inexorably the best (!), and haute cusine is inevitably just HARD to reproduce in flavours.
I love your steamed chicken & green onion recipe, but I was wondering, how did it get by without soy sauce? Is it because of salt & cooking wine?

Everything looks so good. Would probably try siopao too if I had one of these things.

A steam oven! I have got to get me one of those.
The broccoli looks great, but I think I'd prefer the chicken to be slightly seared.

That broccoli looks nice. We loved steamed veggies, but my wife really has a problem overcooking them on the stove. The steam oven sounds simple to use.
