I heard of the Jackson's having a half sister and if I am not mistakened she definitely resembles Janet. I agree, Nonya. Staying with him was just stupid. No one has to stay and put up mess from any man.

Lady Marmalade...you're right. Back in the day, it was traditional biblically to not divorce your spouse for any reason. You were supposed to stay and work it out.
As many of us all know, Katherine comes from a traditional Jehovah's witness old-fashioned family. So therefore, I see that's the reason she stayed with Joe Jackson.
But nowadays it's not like that anymore. Many women refuse to put up with their husband abusing them, cheating, abusing the kids, being controlling and manipulative, etc.
Janet should know that wasn't true love and it wasn't for the kids. Katherine is just old-fashioned and traditionally biblical.
In that Jacksons mini-series movie that came out years ago, Michael told Katherine that he always felt she would leave Joe after all he had did all those years. Even the damn children expected her and wanted her to leave Joe! That says a lot.
Biblically, on the grounds of fornication, she would have had every right to divorce Joe.

How can anyone be on here dogging saying what Katherine should have done.
What she can put up with may not be what we can put up with. She did what she felt was right and she and she alone with have to answer to God for that.
And who is to say she really doesn't or didn't love Joe. Only Katherine can say she didn't love him. Hell, after all she been through I say with Janet she must really love that negro.

When it comes to marriage each one must make the decision for themselves. We don't know how they arrived at that decision.
Like everything you make the decision and hope for the best when it comes to consequences.
It is up to the individual in the marriage to decided if he or she wants to stay in a marriage that is not healthy or whatever. Opinions here are just that.....opinions. What I don't understand is why is Janet just now saying something regarding her half sister who has to be a teen or older by now. Oh well, I hope she at least speaks to her. It is not her fault that she is here.
Sometimes when you have been with someone for so long and become a certain age you just go with the flo. I saw a pic of Joe at a club looking like pimp daddy wannabe. And yes, why is Janet talking now? Is she married? I can't stand when ppl spill the beans on things we did not know about and leave us hanging with things we want more info on.
I don't know why Janet has decided to speak about this now because this is old news. Katherine did file for a divorce from Joe when she found out about his love child that was back in the late 70's early 80's. But for some reason she decided to reconcile and dropped the divorce action. Their are published pictures of the outside daughter.She does look like the other Jackson children. This is part of the reason the jackson kids have a troubled relationship with their father; how he has treated their mother. I met their mother before and I found her to be a soft-spoken, sweet and very personable.
