I read his radio transcript and he was actually defending blacks...I'm not saying he isn't a A$$hole...he has been an A$$ in the past, but this one particular time, I can actually say his words were taken out of contexts...there was a lot said defending blacks before he made this comment...He was actually being interviewed by a black journalist at the time he said this...
He doesn't need to defend me at all, thank you! His comments show that he's ignorant and he's racist! He's really saying, "I'm so suprised that all niggers don't act the same! I thought they were all about rap music, cursing, and being loud." It just goes to show that he has a very narrow view of black people and he thought he was making it better by talking about how eating at a black establishment was the same as eating at a white one. Of course it is you idiot! Up until this point he had already formed an opinion about people he knows nothing about...that's called racism.

WOW! I see people have mixed views about that comment. I honestly think he is a racist but at the same time was just mocking us (how a majority of black people act) and yes, we will be in a restaurant all ghetto talking about "some more mutha f'n iced tea" so, it is what it is...we need to stand up and respect ourselves first before we expect for other to respect us. He was talking about the way a lot of act and carry ourselves...sad, but true.
I can say honestly say I don't act like that in restaurants, so for him to say that was offense because it is what he expected and he didn't get it. So no all of us don't act like that in restaurants or in public period. Plus, in my opinion based on what I've seen (growing up in the suburbs) white people act worst than we (black people) do for the most part.

O'Reilly's opinion is just that, one man's opinion. The fact that one man can have so much influence b/c of a microphone and a camera is scary. In all seriousness O'Reilly is not speaking from someone with knowledge of the African-American community. He was actually speaking on how the majority of caucasian Americans are ignorant to black culture. Now that may be equally offensive to white Americans who are not racist, but that was his defense. I ask where is our pride and self-esteem if everytime someone makes a racist comment we are ready to 1. give it more news time than the body count in Iraq 2. request whomever made the comments be terminated by their employers. THIS IS AMERICA! I value free speech. And I agree with Jesse for a change, his comments were offensive. However, if the majority of white America are intimidated and afraid of black culture, if the majority of white America think we behave like hip-hop videos, then O'Reilly's ignorance may have served a good purpose b/c it will continue to open a dialogue about race in this country. Racism is still alive on all sides and if we as a nation want to be seen as Americans and not black, white or hispanic, we need to behave like one nation under God and have our differences out in the open until we no longer feel different about them.
