Reports had reached the point that Congress finally had to legislate the Pentagon to reimburse soldiers and their families who were buying equipment for the battlezone. The fact that the DoD -- run into the ground by the boorish Rumsfeld -- is unable to provide battle zone equipment for those soldiers the White House loves to heap praise upon is embarrassing and deadly enough. But after being directed by Congress over a year ago to establish a reimbursement program to repay soldiers who do buy their own equipment, the Pentagon has yet to produce a set of "completed guidelines" for the program. Senator Dodd (D-Conn), the original sponsor of the bill, is now so furious with the Pentagon, he intends to introduce another bill that would strip the incompetent Rumsfeld of authority over the program and hand it to military commanders in the field.

Unfortunately, we went to war with the Secretary of State we had. And the result has been the deaths of far too many men, women and children. I hold Rumsfeld personally responsible for far too many of those deaths and believe that he needs to be held accountable for it.
