Earl-
This is both surprising and disappointing. You have seemingly bought into bush propaganda that Iran is now the greatest threat to the world because of a supposed nuclear weapons program that NO ONE has been able to provide a single shred of proof exists.
Contrast that to bush, who has openly stated his desire to "nuke" Iran, precipitating a revolt among his senior generals until those weapons systems were "off the table".
Contrast that to our CIA that revolted against bush regarding his black prisons and detainee torturing. The CIA shut them down because bush wouldn't.
Contrast that to a republican party that has finally begun to wise up to what an asshole bush is, and are in open revolt against his desired policies regarding torture.
Ahmadinejad has been terribly, and with malice aforethought, demonized, misquoted, and accused of violating treaties WITH NO PROOF WHATEVER, and it just sickens me that, once again, people are buying into the bush narrative in an unquestioningly and unbelievably naive way, given his proven, extensive capability, desire, and intent to lie, cheat, deceive, and fool people into cooperating with yet again another illegal war of aggression.
I'm sorry, but Ahmadinejad appears to me to be more honest, truthful, well-educated, and interested in the welfare of his people than bush and his republican guard. Far more trustworthy, as well.
And you cannot ignore the fact that republicans KNOW that they can deal with Iran diplomatically. Bush 41, as VP, traded arms, weapons technology, nuclear reactors, and nuclear technology in return for Iran releasing the hostages they held for 444 days on the VERY day Reagan was sworn in as president, so for them to allege that they cannot or will not negotiate with a "madman" is deceptive bullshit on a historically and hysterically funny grand scale.
My main point, I guess, is that I, for one, will not buy into bush's bullshit, nor read blogsites that buy into any of his false, dangerous propaganda so that, although I have read this site daily for months and months, I can, in good conscience, no longer do so.
I did, however, enjoy reading this site for those months and will miss you. So long. (And don't feel lonesome, I have permanently blocked abc/disney/fox from my TV sets [74 sets in all, counting friends, relatives, and extended family] because I consider it vital that our children NOT be exposed to the nazi-like propaganda of bush and his republican guard; I have also dropped many other "liberal' sites that now, inexplicably, seem to be buying into these premises as well.)
