I noted that the Guardian put Cameron's comments clearly within the framework of Disraeli's One Nation or Churchill's 1906-1912 approach to policy rather than the later Thatcherite versions of Conservatism. And you're correct: no American conservative has even come close to that sort of approach to governance. Well, maybe Jack Kemp on a good day.
While it might make politics more interesting, I think the odds are about the same as your flying pigs coming to life.
For fun sometime, find out how many of your US readers have a clue who Disraeli was, or what Churchill did before WWII. Get ready for responses in the fractions of decimal points of percentages.
