Jacques Vallee observed with cults the "ratchet effect," failed prophecies actually strengthen the true believers in their faith, they become increasingly able to believe anything.
My prediction is we see some pretty wild behavior across the American right in the next year. The true believers will do their stuff.
People don't understand that "Baghdad Bob" may have been truly serious, this is a consequence of faith based reality and totaltarian ideologies.
