Newshoggers Comments

Gravatar You inspire me Cernig. I'm working on the same for my blogs. Thanks for the shout out even though I don't see that I made your blogroll yet. But I'm not complaining since I just got around to blogrolling you yesterday... I plead inertia on that. I hate working on the template.

Gravatar Hi Libby,

I don't see that I made your blogroll yet.

Damn, how did I miss doing that? I knew I had done it! I've fixed matters now though.

Regards, C

Gravatar Thanks for the link to my SotD post. And an even bigger thanks for linking to The Xsociate Files in your blogroll. You've been a daily read for me for a while and I'm honored to have made the cut. Keep up the great work.

Gravatar Hi again Libby,

If I inspire, it is because of the inspiration I got from Jill of Brilliant For Breakfast. She kicked me into action with her original post.

I just thought it was a good idea and passed it along.

Regards, C

Gravatar Thanks for the shout out. Litbrit (who also writes at Shakespeare's Sister) wrote the religion post at Pushing Rope. Unfortunately, I can't take credit for the words.

Gravatar Hi Michael,

Thanks - and fixed.

I singled out that post because I wanted to pair it with Ron's one. Pushing Rope is one of the great blogs out there that doesn't get nearly enough credit. Keep up the good stuff!

Regards, C

Gravatar C., don't I deserve to be a big ol' A-lister too?

Thanks for the props for that NIE analysis. I added a second post today at Unbossed and Inconvenient News, pointing to a Pincus article that says Senate Dems are cheesed off with Negroponte at how disingenuous and one-sided the NIE is. Yuppers.

Just imagine the squawking from the blog personages if all the smaller blogs delink from them. Jolt to the pocketbook, that is.

My own pretty short blogroll at Inconvenient News is mainly intended to highlight bloggers who (a) do original reporting or serious, in-depth analysis of the news, and (b) who deserve far more recognition than they receive. It's a difficult balance to strike. Some of the medium traffic blogs I link to are closer to the level of attention they deserve, than some of the very small traffic blogs (which never the less may not be quite as strong as the former). I'm leaning more and more in the direction of the severely under-appreciated.

My roll may get longer soon, though I too hate messing with the template.

Ah, don't you just adore the personages who prefer to link to other personages than to the blogger who actually did the work? Not much better than just plain swiping material without any acknowledgement (I've seen a lot of both).

I consider myself a resident of Unbossedville, and Inconvenient News. I post less often at the House of Orange. I find that if I crosspost there, blog personages (including a few at dKos) are much more likely to repackage my work without acknowledgement, as if I were just some anonymous cog in the mighty Orange machine.

Some months ago for example a story of no great importance that I broke at dKos was picked up without attribution by a few very important bloggers; then kicked around leftopia for a few days; then ended up back on the front page at dKos. Even after I pointed out that I'd broken the story there, no link or attribution.

Gravatar Thanks Cernig. I feel honored to on this roster.
