Newshoggers Comments

Gravatar Columbia does represent a lot of what's bad about American elites---namely their penchant for pandering to America's enemies [if you've been following the news, Iran is threatening a "surprise" on Colombus Day] and being nasty to other guests.

Lee Bollinger [who emigrated from my alma mater in Ann Arbor & a "first amendment] never confronted or followed up against the thugs disrupting the speech of a MinuteMan Border invitee and Columbia restricted admission to an anti-Hamas former Palestinian terrorist named Walid Shoebat.

But this sniveling craven toady plucks at the hem of the robe of a genocidal maniac wannabe who was a ringleader of the American Embassy takeover in '79 & still holds the Middle East Woodrow Wilson Center chief as a prisoner in Teheran's infamous version of the Bastille.

I knew Lisa Anderson at Columbia, and she is leftier than the CSJ students who cheated on their open-book ethics exams !! Lisa also coddled up to Qaddafi, but dropped him suddenly once he came over to our side!!

Rashid Khalidi [who made me an academic associate at the U. of Chicago] & Edward Said have soiled the reputation of this school for objective scholarship as well. Said barely knew Arabic & was an ideologue. [I knew him & he was a nice guy peddling quack medicine]

I was for a long time a member of their Middle East seminar. They are really a bunch of suck-ups to terrorists---sort of mau-mauing the flak-catchers updated.

Gravatar Sorry, should read
"[who emigrated from my alma mater in Ann Arbor & is a "first amendment" expert].

I still have friends at Columbia, although my old buddy Rabbi Arthur Hertberg died last year, as did Said, a nice brilliant literary critic who stumbled when he got into politics.

Frank Rich & Paul Krugman anyone?

Gravatar Crazy and distasteful as Ahmadinejad is, he's got more guts than Bush if he agrees to an unscripted Q&A. Ah that US democracy has sunk so low.
