I collected some of the comments from the thread on Talking Radio here. There's every reason to think that people want to harm Randi when they respond to news of serious injury with who cares? or she deserved whatever she got or too bad she didn't die.
I haven't seen this level of ugliness in twelve years.
I would have thought that before running a conspiratorial bit of commentary about something that happened to someone who works for them, it might have occurred to someone who works for Air America to, you know, pick up the phone and call their colleague to find out what happened. That's just the sort of thing that seems sensible to me, rather than making all sorts of spurious speculation about who conducted an attack it turns out never actually happened. I mean, if one of my colleagues was mugged, I think someone from our office would call them to get the story just out of human concern - even if we weren't planning on going on-record to discuss the matter.
Still, I suppose it makes sense to a mindset that sees a helicopter and entertains the thought that the government's coming to get them... 
And that bit of sidewalk is a card-carrying member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, you know...

I want to know if after the accident, it was discussed that it would be presented the way it was to fish for inevitable nasty comments from the right which would, in turn, promote the whole Rush Limbaugh/M. Malkin SCHIP mean-old-republicans thing. I find it hard to believe that the program had no way of confirming what happened. I think they floated this the way they did on purpose.

Simon - LOL. Sure it sounds crazy, but if you had been reading me regularly, you would know this is NOT the first time helicopters have buzzed me and it's happened in more locations than just here. These weird appearances have been going on regularly for over two years. I think I'm entitled to just a little paranoia. :-}

I love the indignance in your tone. Conservatives wouldnt have cared less because Air America is irrelevant, but when her boob partner speculated the Right did it, we are now 'delighting in your disorder'.
Charles, if you havent seen this level of ugliness in years, please check HuffPo when it was disclosed that Tony Snow had cancer, or when Cheney had some prob with his heart. Liar.
Wear a helmet dude, the tin foil isn't going to cut it anymore. Randi Rhodes was felled by black helicopters dropping ice. By the time the victim regains consciousness the ice has melted.
