I'm with you on this Cernig. How the hell did we ever let 'preventive war' become part of our policy - hell even part of our vocabulary...
Preemptive war is a different concept altogether, and I think most people get the two confused.
That former notion flies in the face of anything democracy has ever had to offer. This so called "League of Democracies" should be viewed as an affront by anyone who ever even thought they were associated with the word 'Progressive'.
You have to hand it to the Repubs, they are excellent at creating bumpersticker slogans that say one thing and mean another.

Kevin's a good guy at heart, just a bit dazzled by his own opinion of his intelligence. We all fall into that trap now and again, otherwise we wouldn't be bloggers. I've no bone with him other than that he's so consistently wrong. He's still in a pout because the last NIE and the IAEA report didn't say Iran had more and bigger nukes than Israel. He would've been vindicated then.

The kill the UN crowd ignores the facts of the UN. The old Soviet Union used the SC veto to stop many actions, as the US does today to "suppress anti-Semitism". Also, where does the Non-Aligned Nations stand here, the Indians were more aligned with the USSR than the Western Democracy. They could go in that direction again.
