It's getting more and more difficult for me to read this bullshit without crying. Maybe I could be more objective if I didn't have 4 children under the age of 12 who so desperately depend on this. Especially my youngest, a 5 year old, who we find out tomorrow if she requires major surgery or not.

Our "assests" include a 96 Minivan and a 97 pick up truck. Selling those 2 things combined would not pay for her surgery. We could sell our house, but then, we'd REALLY have to go on welfare and be homeless, thereby receiving more foodstamps and Medicaid.

Is that what they really want?

I know this is antecdotal, but I have a cousin who is very Malkinesque in his views on politics, immigration and just about everything else.

A hard working self-employed contractor, he had medical insurance when he was struck down by an aneurysm in his brain. His medical topped out at $1 million. Unfortunately, his bills totaled $2 million and they are coming after him for the rest.

I haven't asked, but I'm suspecting some of his views may be subject to change. Just like it used to be said that a conservative is a liberal who got mugged, perhaps it will soon be that a liberal is a conservative who got sick. Or whose wife or children got sick.
