Pretty much everyone ( with any sense of humanism ) under the Soviet-Communist yolk of 1950-1989 developed a sardonic, ironic and very dark sense of humor--but the source was obvious. Here and now, the source of such brutal humor is still secret, but no less real.

That lil Andrew Sullivan is an insufferable Boy George wannabe! He makes himself more ridiculous day by day.

I lived and worked in the Middle East for ten years, speak & read Arabic, and AQ & the Basanji Pasdaran types do get to read stuff like Sullivan's [in translation] and simply cannot believe what a bunch of flakey morons they're up against.

Makes them redouble their efforts, and the moronic Sullivan & his ilk are so sequestered they don't realize this is happening.
