When you have to lie about the context of a quote to make someone look stupid, it makes you look stupid. Do a little research, genius.
To be fair, in context, it wasn't quite so bad, and it was probably written to be read differently. But still, knowing our boy Blunder's proclivity for misspeaking, they could have used someone who was already really dead to make the point. Bad speechwriting on the consultant's part.
Anyone could have predicted he would blow that line and it's the one that people will remember. Doesn't matter what the context was.
