Newshoggers Comments

Gravatar Hi! I'm Larry, and this is my brother Darryl, and that's my other brother Darryl.

We're Bush's brain.

Gravatar Wouldn't the "U.S. military" be a singular noun? And thus your statement ought to say "The U.S. military is amazed that Afghanis..."

Get my meaning, man?

Every time I come over here I'm amazed just how FUBAR this blog is!

But hey, there's no stupidity over here, right? Haven't you corrected my own comments on this page once or twice?

No one's perfect...

Gravatar I know this was a genuine mistake

"I'd like to assume this was a genuine mistake, in spite of all past indications to the contrary" is more accurate. A giggling officer somewhere up the chain probably sports a tiny boner over this, and were you to directly suggest asking "them" about what they find offensive, would probably explode into red-faced, spittle-flinging outrage.

Gravatar Hi Donald,

That's the best you've got - a grammatical pedantry?

Every time you come over here I'm amazed you come over here. Especially since you "despise the hard-left radical agenda and discourse". Are you some kind of masochist?

Regards, C

Gravatar "u.s. military is" vs. "u.s. military are"

aren't you taking the "army of one" slogan rather literally. i mean, we do have more than one branch. and each branch has more than one person.

that's plural in my book.

Gravatar Did they make the balls out of pigskin? You know, just for good measure.

Gravatar "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"

Gravatar How it is surprising that Muslims are offended by this?

And why are they not offended by the Saudi flag itself?

Seems like Muslims leaders look for any opportunity to be offended at something done by people of the West.

If a Muslim burns a Koran, nobody cares.

Gravatar >But if they had asked a Muslim to give >the soccer balls a quick look, just >once, before air-dropping them...

For Christ's sake, this doesn't require a Muslim. It requires someone capable of saying "So how would WE feel if Arabs were distributing soccer balls with the U.S. flag on it and a biblical verse?"

That is, a functioning brain stem.

The question is which of the following were they thinking:

A. They're pagan wogs, who don't think the way we do.

B. They're poor pagan wogs, and they'll be grateful for anything we give them.

Gravatar This reminds me of Ronald Reagan sending a bible to Ayatullah Khomeini in which he had penned a little note.

The Bible - and the Koran and the Talmud - are considered to be the literal words of the One God Almighty and for someone to presume to write in one of these books is deemd to be a big insult. But one one bothered to ask . . .

Gravatar Military intelligence:
But I was told ALL the bomblets from cluster bombs explode. There should be no problem with the Afghanis confusing yellow the yellow MRE packages with the yellow bomblets.
and:
Who knew the food from broken packages of MRE's would rot, and furthermore, *who knew the MRE's would break open after being dropped from airplpanes?

*Thanks Cathy for the reminder.

Gravatar From our friend Donald Douglas, the Nutty Professor.

As some of my readers have noticed, I've initiated a number of debates with lefty bloggers in recent weeks (see here and here).

Some have asked: Why do I do it? Sure, a lot of it is fascination and a hint of orneriness. But more seriously, my response is that engaging the enemy at home is the best way to learn about the nature and capabilities of the adversary. And I do think we have an enemy at home in the hardline left, which I see as a modern fifth column movement seeking the destruction of the country

.

Gravatar LOL, thanks Jon. I love the way he quotes extensively from Dr Santy, the ex-NASA psychiatric counsellor who pretends she's in clinical psychiatry and is therefore qualified to prognosticate on diagnoses. (But what happened with that patient of hers who wanted to wear diapers and kill love-rivals? Did Santy miss that one?)

Santy writes her column looking in a mental mirror but is too deluded to realise it. Her sociopathy appears to internally insist she is the only real person, the rest of us are just cardboard cut-outs, so she really only has an understanding of her own mind to go on. But she's taken on this role as a psychiatrist, which she must play out in an attempt to be consistent with her outward persona, so she projects her internal life onto others.

(See, I can do trick-cycling too.)
