Hell will freeze over before I take anything someone from the Heritage Foundation says at face value.
More likely, just pretty words without an iota of sincerity, written now in preparation for the inevitable neoradical assault against a Democratic president, or to rein in McCain, should Clinton and Obama succeed in destroying each other's credibility.
It also seems that part of the problem, as he sees it, is that Bush/Cheney haven't been properly motivated to do whatever it would have taken to keep the wool firmly pulled over the citizens' eyes.
I'd bet he still believes McCain is the best choice for re-selling the voters on the value of wool eye-muffs.
Youbetcha I'm cynical of any neoradical's sudden profession of a conversion experience, especially when it comes at this point in the election cycle.
