I think Sha is giving the media too much credit. They ALWAYS fall for the rock star campaigns. Image is ALWAYS more important than ideas. Look at the Republicans this year - war hero versus movie actor face. I don't profess to think that any of the other candidates had many good ideas, but it never looked to me like there was any longterm room for anyone else in the news coverage.
And when you throw the money available aspect into it, then it's pretty much a done deal.

For me, it was a tactical decision to like Edwards but to be extremely wary of voting for him as soon as he accepted public primary matching funds. I figured that in an environment such as 2008 with massive Dem. excitement, a proven revenue model and a demoralized GOP base, giving up on a projected cash advantage is a dumb idea.

NOW I'm hoping to vote for "RockStar" Barack.
I will vote for a "RockStar" Clinton again, but I will have to hold my nose this time.
I'm going to have to cut this short or my coarser language is going to make an appearance.
Have a nice day and read this week's Ted Rall column.
Later.

Not to toot my own horn too much, but you heard it here first.

Fester, I didn't mind him taking the matching funds. I liked that symbolically now that I'm becoming more receptive to public financing of campaigns altogether.
Earl, this does make choosing who I'll vote for in my primary a lot easier.
Carl, I saw that post on Sunday but I didn't agree. I was hoping he would stay in just to keep the issues alive. With John gone, I'm afraid this primary is really going to devolve into completely meaningless soundbite fluff and stuff campaigning. For instance, I'm not so sure that either Hill or Obama would have stepped in on FISA if not for Edwards making the statement first.

Me, being outside your fun & games, when I heard this morning that Edwards was to have a new conference around 1pm, I thought immediately, christ, his wife has had a turn for the worst.
You can tell I'm an outsider, eh.
He, I think, showed class in going by not throwing his support behind either of the other 2, least not yet, though I know he has been chit-chat with the Clinton.
