I predict, Cernig, this is the next firestorm scandal probably starting later today when the MSM airs it. This is the first blog that caught it, too.
One of the things I wonder about is the number of women from other nations employed by these corporations in Iraq, and how they are managing. Jones was lucky she was able to use a US representative to make her escape, what about others not so lucky?
Hopefully this story will cause some to take notice; the sad thing is it is all to easy to predict the coming attacks on the victim and blame her for what transpired. We have seen it with Murtha, Kerry, Plame, a 12 yr old boy, and many others, now Ms. Jones will likely join the list. I do hope I am wrong.

I tell myself I'm not gonna let it get to me when wingnuts conduct themselves like they do and attack innocent people like 12 year old children and rape victims {and the evidence presented by Miss Jones and others is very compelling]. But it always makes me angry, as it should , I suspect.

In most other modern US wars, the troops were allowed to fraternize with European and Vietnamese women. Add the 15 month deployments and no fraternization with local women and sexual assaults will happen.

These were contractors, not GI's. So your saying horniness causes brutal gang rape. What happened here was not a bit about sex but power and control. You should know that. but I expect you'll soon be informed of that by Libby or some other female reader.
Cernig, I got a long post and link to other blog posts (including yours) on the Jones story. I see bloggers venting their outrage, but not the details of the cover up and how many other potential rape victims there maybe.

Sexual crimes against children seem to be more horrific than the same crimes against adults. If you don't think it makes a difference, why did you change it from woman to girl?
Nal, I'm a lot older than her, she's young enough to be my daughter. To me, she's a girl. So is any woman that young. What can I say? I think like a Dad.
Oh, and "girl" is two fewer characters for a post headline that I felt was already too long to work well on aggregators. Notice I (a notorious BushHalliburtonCheney hater according to some rightwingers) didn't mention KBR or Halliburton in the post headline either? Same reason.
