The other really interesting thing is where the US itself stands on the failed state list. Among OECD members, the US is second worst for internally displaced persons (presumably this is due to Katrina), second worst for human rights and arbitrary abuse of power, and fifth worst for uneven economic development. The only OECD members to do consistently worse in all three areas are Mexico and Turkey. Anyone who doesn't see a problem here is either ignorant or a psychopath.
