FYI, it's also not appropriate to recruit military personnel in public places such as schools (they didn't quite *ban* the practice, but they came out "symbolically" against it. Personally, I want to symbolically tell San Francisco to go symbolically jump off the Golden Gate, but that's just me.
Cheers,

I touched on that at the end of the post. Just a quick little jab. Or flick of the ear. Maybe a pinch on the arm...

Hey, the gun ban has done wonders in DC, okay? That city is a haven of peace and stability.
And how DARE you question liberal conventional wisdom?

The corollary to the old maxim 'If you outlaw guns, only outlaws have guns' is fairly straightforward: if someone has a gun, you may then fingerprint them, run their DNA against other crimes, confiscate the weapon and do ballistic testing to see if it's been used in a crime, and put the perpetrator in prison where he is not able to actually -use- the weapon.
Whereas if everyone's got a gun and, in the midst of a hold up at the minimart, whips out their trust Glock to put a cap in the bad guy -- only to miss several times, sending bullets ripping through sheet rock walls to plow into people walking past outside.
The destructive ability of guns is well-proven. The capacity for poor judgement in people is equally well-proven. And if you honestly think that keeping a handgun in your pocket makes you safer, you're a bloody idiot.

And if you think that criminals in San Francisco won't find a way to get a handgun, you're even more of an idiot.
