that seymour thing makes me see red. i was at that game, watching through field glasses, and the amount of pain seymour was playing through with that cast on his left arm--he had it adjusted and re-taped several times on the bench during the game and was slow to get up a few times, favoring that arm when he landed on it--was something that would crush most humans. and as usual, his name was called more than anyone else on defense (except for asante samuel). definitely lame on dr. z's part.

//OK, maybe he was hurt.//
Gee, ya think?
Heard Seymour on the Dale and Holley show saying it was Rodney Harrison who brought that article to his attention. I find that unsurprising.
I heart Asante, have for years. Re-sign him now, please.

Once again, CF, you're right on the money. I was thinking the same exact thing watching Monday Night football. How does Favre get away with this stuff? Really? It was after just about every INT he threw, these idiots were dronning on and on about his competetiveness and how he should return next year. No other QB would get that after throwing 3 INTs. Jake Delhomme basically pulled a Favre in his game Sunday and is getting lambasted. Unbelievable.
And for the record, I'm a life-long Dolphins fan and am rooting whole heartedly AGAINST Favre breaking Marino's TD record.

My wife almost killed me as I accused Theismann of publicly fellating Favre...that was embarassing! My feelings on Brett are exactly the same as yours, right down to the cheering when he threw the INT right after Theismann's tongue-bath. Favre deserves a better fate than a bunch of us disdaining him because of all the media fawning. I'm sure just about everyone but Patriots fans is just about sick of hearing about Brady and his (ahem) "intangibles"...

although I still think you smell funny, your column is top notch. Thanks for writing it.

Anyone see the symbolism of that Brady juke on Urlacher? I thought it summed up the game nicely in terms of Brady being the Patriots' identity and Urlacher being the Bears'.

Weird that dburba hasn't chimed in about the game.

Yeah, Larry, that did cross my mind after that play happened. It's rare in football when the signature player for each team is involved in the signature play. And Urlacher was a blast to watch - I hope the Bears get to the Super Bowl.
Sloba, send link requests to my email address please. I'll be glad to do one, but this isn't the place.
FYI, I'll have a Manny column posted early in the a.m. . . .

I've been busy talking sense into all the yahoo casual fans who've been telling me about how the Pats "dominated" the Bears. Right.
The Bears made the last mistake, which is usually what it comes down to when two good teams go at it. Also, I predicted a much closer game than anyone else on this blog (kudos to my colleague, Dave D'Onofrio, for calling it correctly). And the way things are shaping up, the Bears seem like a much likelier Super Bowl team than the Pats.

For the record, the official TATB pick was 17-9, Pats. And that's about as close as we're going to come to getting one right.

I apologize: my prediction was as close as any other on this blog. For some reason, everyone in the world knew the Pats were going to score 17 points that game.
