Wow, let me just say this is a bit weird. I was searching on google for "fox news typos" and came across some of your posts on another site about the subject. From there i find out that you are none other than the guy I have been watching on jeopardy.
Here's where it comes full circle, wait for it... I work in the graphics departent at fox news. That said, its amazing how off base, hate-filled, and ignorant you come across. For one, you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the staff at FNC, and since your readers have no clue either, its easy to make unfounded accusations and not get called out for it. I cant resist. FYI, a majority of the members of the graphics department are either apolitical or democrats, as most artists are. Mistakes happen. Obviously you have never worked in television news; we are responsible for hundreds upon hundreds of graphics a day. Im sure on your job if you make a mistake it is viewed by a few, on mine its millions. If you think that's ever intentional then its clear your bias has clouded your reasoning skills. ORielly/Hannity/Colmes have an agenda, to assume the graphics department does is absurd. A lot of the time the artist working on a graphic has no idea the context of the story in the first place. (Sorry I dont keep up on Rhode Island politics on my free time). Sometimes, due to the fast paced nature of the business, mistakes are made, and when they are we take them seriously. But mistakes are just mistakes. Try not to make such wild conspiratory assumptions, they are very unbecoming and quite telling. And I know you're familiar with the term "stereotyping".

Badspeller,
Then why wasn't the typographical error corrected? Surely someone noticed and pointed it out.
Sorry, the best excuse you have is that Fox is filled with sloppy journalists and editors, and that is certainly no excuse at all.

If it's truly accidental, why do these mistakes seem to always happen at Fox, more than any other network?

Badspeller doesn't pass the smell test.
RI politics? ORielly? Repeated mislabeling is just a simple mistake? The hell?

Smell test ... good point, NTodd.
I'll give Badspeller a pass for the RI reference, though - it's legit. The post I did followed up on Foley; it had to do with a reversal of parties on Chafee and Whitehouse. BS (there's an apropos nick) no doubt was referring to my post, indeed about RI, rather than Foley.
I'll also give Badspeller props for picking an appropriate nom de blog. Like you, NTodd, I rather doubt someone who works at FNC, in graphics, no less, would misspell O'Reilly's name.

I'm sure everyone is aware of the flurry of these instances occurring in the days and weeks ahead of the election. Seems to me like a concerted effort to support the mime that there's really not much difference between Rs & Ds anyway and thereby create apathy that supresses the vote. Low turnout helps maintain status quo.

Methinks the badspeller doth protest too much.
And believe it or not, I've known a LOT of artists who are conservative. Musicians too.

Okay, I've heard enough ... I hereby call shenanigans on Badspeller.
Either a troll or incompetent (or both).

my views in no way reflect that of FNC nore is this in any way an offical response from FNC...
That said, my previous comments were about the RI senate race not oreilly. But the oreilly factor is a pretaped show, the mistake was caught on air when it was too late to change it. that is why it went up more than once. When it viewed in later airings the erronious lowerthirds were removied using a "clean air" tape (notice the entire lack of a lowerthird for foley during reruns). This mistake was not that of the graphics department it was done in a control room during the taping. But in no way are any mistakes intentional and when i read your conspiracy theory i laughed out loud at how off base it was.
This will be the last you will hear from me. You were wrong, end of story.

BTW dont read into my mispelling of "nor". The republican party had nothing to do with it.
