I run summaries in the feed, if only to bump the hit count... (and you also get the "related items" links).
But as a consumer, I prefer the full story. Though some blogs it seems like I'm clicking through for the entire post anyway.

I'm a full post guy ... eventually, ppl will comment and visit but I have no adverts so I do not get paid for blogging. Makes my political stuff less problematic.

I usually post full articles, but shorten them to conserve space. There's a link at the bottom to read the full text. It's not perfect, but I'm new to html and have only been blogging for 6 months (anniversary this coming Saturday) so I'm still on the learning curve.
I prefer the format that Alex has at PAwatercooler.com, but am about a year or so away from going in that direction.

I publish full posts and prefer to read full posts in the feed. If I feel a need to comment, or an interest to read other comments, I will click over.
I'm sure that my visitor and page view stats suffer. But I think that my reach is larger because of it.
