Gravatar One thing I've noyiced that nobody mentioned the use of is coupons. A couple years ago I took the lead of a co-worker and tried to learn how to effectively utilize coupons. I gave them a very good go, but I found for the most part I was better off with out them.

I think it encourgaed me to by products that I otherwise would do with out. Plus it can eat up huge amount of the very precious compodity of time. There are some exceptions but I find that since I stopped worrying about coupons I actually save money.

Gravatar These are great, Randi. I am often a little lazy when it comes to planning meals, menus, etc. I like cooking, but I always feel so rushed.

Thanks for posting all these comments!

Gravatar I just finished reading your blog, Randi! What a treat! Looks like I found another kindred spirit... I am adding you over on my blog to my list, and I am so glad to see other women are trying to cut the budget by doing some bulk cooking, menu planning, and thrifty shopping. For the past week, I have been able to feed my family of 8- that is including two teenagers and a very hungry hubby, for less than $10 a day. It requires some work, but it will help out with our budget. By the way, my dear hubby is self employed too... it is either feast or famine right???

Thanks for the comments on my blog too... where in PA does your Dad live?

Gravatar Carla, I can't get to your blog with the link next to your name. Could you leave it again?

Thanks!
