Gravatar One question.

Can I sew by hand, or must I use a machine?

Crissy

Gravatar Oh, Randi, I am so very tempted! I have so many other unfinished projects. Perhaps with this one, I would have more accountability.

Gravatar Randi, I would love to join you! I think it would be fun--an online quilting class! How creative!

I have made a "Quilt in a Day" before--maybe 20 years ago, so I'm rusty. But I'd like to try the pinwheel one. Should be fun. Thanks.

Gravatar Do you need a cheerleader? *Smile* I neither own a sewing machine, nor can I sew a straight line, but I AM very enthusiastic for this endeavor! *Pom Poms*

Gravatar Hi Crissy,

I will leave that up to you. I have never done any hand-sewing so I am unsure of what is involved in it. The only problem I can see is TIME, although you can definitely make your quilt at your own pace because I will keep the classes posted.

I really hope you will join me!

Gravatar good luck ladies I have no sewing ablity what so ever I can't even cut a striaight line=( Have fun qulting YOU will be in my prayer's

Gravatar Ohhhhhh....I wish I could, but I'm not set up for sewing yet. boo hoo.

What a fabulous idea Randi!!!

Gravatar Hi there...I read your blog but never comment and this sounds like so much fun. I'm all for it!! Let me know when and what I need to buy to get started.

Thanks
Becca

Gravatar Sounds like a fabulous idea! Quilting is one of those crafts I've always boycotted, because I have so many other things to dabble in, but I sure would love to see you do this! I'm with Possum - I'll be cheering as loud as I can for you all!

Gravatar I'm interested! I'm going to include my daughter so we can have something to work on together and she can learn some things along the way. Well, we'll both be learning! Anyway, looking forward to this and I hope we can do it!

Gravatar Hi Randi-
You can count me in. I love to quilt, but I haven't started a new project in a few months. And I love the idea of having instructions posted for me to follow. I havne't had much luck with triangles, so I hope your instructions are really, really good.
Looking forward to starting it.

Gravatar I'm in, Randi.
I think I'll take my time and do it by hand.
The thing I love most about the quilts my grandmother made for me (besides the memories of sitting by her rocking chair while she quilted) are the imperfect stitches made by her own two hands.
Who knows. After this first one, I may check into a machine.

Crissy

Gravatar This is my first time to post to any blog. I enjoy sewing, but haven't taken much time to do it lately. I will be watching for your instructions. Thanks for doing this!

Gravatar Hey Randi!
I would so love to do this with you. I have just moved into my new apt but I can get my sewing machine set up and be ready by the time you start on the 23rd. I think I even know where my quilting box and supplies are!
I look forward to completing another quilt. It will be good stress relief over the next month.
Thanks for the taking the time to do this. It will be a blast! I can't wait to see pic's of everyone's finished "products."

Gravatar Yay! This sounds great! I just hope I can actually complete the project. I am Queen of the Half-Done Projects. But count me in and I'll do my best. I'm excited.

Gravatar Please post pictures! My daughter (9) has taken a quilting class and really enjoyed it. I don't think I have the talent for something like that (I have zero art capabilities!).

Gravatar I will try to keep up with you Randi! I have always wanted to try to make a quilt like that, cool idea!

Gravatar What a great idea! I won't join this time around, since I've barely got my head above water and have set a few small crafting goals for myself but can't handle a big one ... but I'm going to post this on my blog and send people you're way, since I think it's SUCH a great idea!

Gravatar Yes, what a great idea. I would love to make a quilt. I am new to your website - I found it thru Crystal's blog of Biblical Womenhood. When does the class begin? I already have a great deal of fabric from my dressmaking business, but quilting has eluded me. I can not wait. Maria from PA

Gravatar Hi Maria,

I will be posting the first lesson on Monday. I hope you can join us!

Do you have a blog?

Gravatar Sounds fun. I'm in the middle of making an Egg Money Quilt right now, but I think I can make time for this. I need a gift anyway, so I can kill two birds with one stone.

Gravatar Hi Randi~
I've wanted for so long to learn the basics for quilting, but have been so intimidated...even after perusing numerous quilting books. SO, I'm going to be following along! I'm sure I probably shan't *keep up*, but I will try. I'm also in the middle of sanding and painting doors and trim around here, and planning our garden for the Spring...but THIS I must try...LOL!
Now...I'll have to get that sewing maching my MIL gave me out and *freshen up* my memory as to how it all works!
Thanks for doing this!
blessings~

Gravatar I would love to follow along - I am behind already though so I might just be printing out and going at my own pace. Never done one before but my mountain of fabric is growing and growing with no use for anything... dh would love to see me USE it!
