Great pics! This part looks fun. I can't wait to get there.
LOL... I have finally got all my squares cut out and am piecing them together now. So I guess i am still on week one. But at least I'm not as far behind now.
Thanks again for doing this. This has been lots fun for me so far, and I'm sure the rest will be too. This week looks the best so far.

Hi Randi,
Just wondering what type of batting you like to use? I have a friend who really likes "warm and natural" for her machine quilts but finds it difficult for hand quilting. I can't remember, though, what she likes for hand quilting. What do you use?

Hi Natalie-Joy,
I usually use Warm and Natural for all of my quilts--unless I am low on money and then I buy the polyester batting. I love the feel of W&N and it is so warm if you are making a bed or lap quilt.

I just finished the week one lesson! Hooray! I really am feeling very domestic and accomplished already ! I am scared to do the next step though, afraid that I'll find out none of it goes together!! EEK! I will start later tonight. This is so fun, thank you so much Randi, it's just such a cool thing to do this with everyone. Your directions are sooo good, if I can figure them out! LOL!

Just found you site and thought I would delurk to ask a question. Have you ever hand pieced a quilt and then did the hand quilting? I see things about hand quilting but I'm not sure if that includes putting the quilt together. Quilting is something I haven't tried for awhile. Right now I'm into scrapbooking my family. But I would love to get started on something new again.

I have always used a sewing machine to piece my quilts. Someday I may try a curved-edge quilt and I have heard that works best being hand-stitched.

Randi, thanks again for such excellent instructions. Hannah and I just posted our quilt tops, and we're ready to begin Week 3's lesson. You mentioned on the post about borders--that we could do them if we wanted. I'm thinking that we purchased border fabric in the original supply list. Anyway, we're both planning on doing borders.
It looks like a real quilt now! Week 2 was fun!

Hi Randi,
Fun colors. I finally got my sewing room unpacked and started a quilt for the new baby. So much fun to start a new project. I love the idea of doing this on-line. YOu're doing a great job. I've done a little bit of hand-piecing it's fun but slow. If you can find it Jinny Beyers has a good teaching video on hand-piecing, she does ALL her piecing by hand, a little daunting but good information - she's definately a master quilter.
