Well thit!!! My laptop was stolen this morning. Did I back up the novel I'm working on last night? No. It's been a week since I've done that, so now I have to try to reconstruct what I was doing. I was on SUCH a roll yesterday, too.

They stole Tomcat's wallet, too. Both were just inside the front door, and they came in, grabbed the wallet and the laptop and left in the five minutes that Tom was taking Scruffybutt for her morning pee. Damnation.

Sorry you got robbed. God that sucks! We had a car stolen a year and a half ago, a 17-year-old Mazda pickup in excellent condition. I may be liberal but I have an inner Charles Bronson yearning to break free. For weeks after that I was in a constant fury, dreaming up tortures that Saddam Hussein never imagined.
I will miss you mightily. Don't forget to VOTE FOR BARACK.

After extensive discussion, Tomcat and I have decided, even though we were burgled, we will not, repeat not, vote Republican.
I thoroughly understand, and I have been thinking of doing the same sort of thing for some time now, for various and other reasons.
I may shoot off an e-mail to you with a story idea. It will be a SHORT story idea most likely, but I think it's lots of fun.

WeaselDog, I'm workin on getting a completed MS, but lost a week b/c since my laptop was stolen. Now I have a ... MAC!!! Finally, I'm so pumped. Except now there's a learning curve because this is my first one.

Thanks, everyone. I'm on the "query-go-round" with the historical novel, and have a yummy agent who asked for the full and is reviewing the MS at present. I'm trying not to stare at the clock/calendar/email/snail-mail TOO much, but the waiting is very hard. Meanwhile, I'm going back to the mystery novel.
