I am just tired of seeing john Mc cain run around and grasp on to any attempt to play president. For someone trying to distance them self from gw bush, he keeps putting himself in his pocket.
1. Georgian War Statements
2. The Hurricanes
3. Having Palin meet world leaders
4. Financial Crisis
5 a mere attempt to avoid debates and why is palin still not speaking unscripted?

Well, we all know why Palin isn't speaking unscripted, even if right-wing-desperatists (just coined that; I like it) don't want to admit it. Gads.
But beyond that--you make some excellent points, Candace.
The part that scares me the most? When they realize it's backfired, they can still bomb Iran.

Well GW made the financial crisis real when he went on TV last night and declared a state of PANIC.
Smooth move that one.
We have now been blackmailed into destroiying the economy by handing over economic control and 1 trillion+ dollars or they will destroy the economy and the nation.
The only way to win is to play the game of chicken out, drive straight ahead and do nothing - but the Democratic Congress is all too ready to cave just like they did with Iraq.

If this is indeed the October Surprise, color me disappointed. Where are all the explosions? Shock and awe, dammit!

Welcome back!
Personally, I think this whole economic crisis is playing right into the hands of Obama, because now people are really starting to realize how bad things are. There most likely were political motivations behind the bailout but I don't think it would have swayed the country to vote Republican.
Looks like there's gonna be some tough years ahead.

Only McCain would cut and run and try to make it look like he's doing something heroic.
With postponing the debate, I read somewhere that his real motive is to postpone or cancel the vice presidential debate. He's terrified that Palin will self-destruct on TV, and if he can postpone the McCain-Obama debate to the date that the vice presidential debate was scheduled...

Candace, you read my mind. Just this morning it occurred to me that this indeed is the "October Surprise" we have all expected. But to your point, it may have backfired. They didn't understand that economic fear and fear for one's life are not the same thing, and that people tend to look into it a little more carefully when we're talking about money rather than staying alive.
Right now I personally think McCain looks like an idiot not to debate and that Obama should go ahead anyway and not let them move the VP debate. I'm sure that was the plan all along, to get her out of the limelight. Of course, McCain may be going senile and they're afraid to have him debate too. It's hard to tell what they're more worried about.

'Looks like there's gonna be some tough years ahead.'
Dan if you hadn't figured that out before this charade you had your head somewhere dark.
Candace the counter to Iran is that Korea is back in the Nuke cookie game.
If anything pops in Iran then ut will be Israel that starts it and from the angry response to this "bailout" by Republicans in Congress, Israel had better not count on help if they start things.

1138, Dan's in Canada...
About Iran - I always figured that Israel would "start" it with a wink and a nod from the U.S. Now Korea is getting scary because Kim-whatshizname apparently had a stroke and hasn't been seen in public, so ... who's pulling the strings now, and why have they taken the seals off the nuclear plant? I mean, could they be even crazier than he is? Or, is he still in charge, only now he's gone totally batshit. And there's our own crazies here in our own government, just waiting for the apocalypse.

1138,
I was referring to the tough years ahead for the recovering (hopefully) U.S economy. Its poor state has been apparent for some time now.

this whole election is becoming more and more like american idol. there is nothing but grandstanding and spin --- and it really is all originating from mccain --- he could give a shit about the country, he cares about mccain.
my anger and disgust just has no where to go to at this point
