The first politician who effectively makes inroads against the Gay jugernaught - will be granted tremendous power by the American people.
Although just about every American out there doesn't understand the connection between contraception and sexual deviancy - I suspect most straight Americans have had just about enough from the Gay crowds.
Mark my words. Hillary Clinton will be the one to do this. Hillary Clinton cares more about power than she does anything else. SHE KNOWS that 99% of americans are really uncomfortable with openly gay anything - they just are unwilling to be persecuted publically. She would sell out the gay corner before I hit enter on the keyboard if it meant she was in charge.
The republicans won't do it - they are all a bunch of chickens (Sanatorum maybe). Hillary is not a chicken and has the word mincing ability to before and against gays. Our worst nightmare is coming!

Paul,
If Hillary did this, would the $$ coming from Hollywood et al dry up?

Very interesting post, Paul. I'm still processing it. But it actually does make some sense. She took a lot of flak, especially from gay constituents, back when everyone was going after Santorum b/c she wouldn't make any statements against him or say anything against that legal interpretation he was quoting. Whereas, if you remember, Chuck Schumer was one of the first out of the gate condemning Santorum. I wondered then why she behaved like that. It really didn't seem in her interest. Your take makes me wonder a bit more . . .
But only a bit.
I do think you're right, though. The first pol who makes a major stand on this is going to reap huge rewards. Santorum hasn't suffered at all in Pennsylvania. Everyday Americans are more or less fine, I think, with their neighbors Joe and Steve being together, sharing a house even; they just don't want to think about what they do together. But, noooooooo, that isn't good enough, now, is it? We can't just tolerate; we have to accept and affirm and say that sodomy is great and wonderful and a beautiful act between two loving men. So we have to be sensitized and have it shoved in our face and have articles like this in our newspapers and have homosexuality taught in sex-ed and . . . on and on. Again, I think people are fine with homosexuals being a rare exception now and then - Elton John, say, or the high school theater teacher (or lesbian equivalents, though they never seem to work people up as much as male homosexuals). But the "mainstreaming" of homosexuality is pushing the limits of Americans' tolerance, and I think the more the media celebrates the "victory" of Lawrence, the more a backlash will build.
BTW, loved that line near the end of the gay parades article about the "anti-gay" protestors praying, several "with rosaries". Always got to get that little dig in, don't we? Man, I love journalistic objectivity.

AA,
Not necessarily. Hollywood is made up of people who want to be taken seriously. Some of them are gay. The one's who are not would be more edified by having "a connection" to the oval office than they would be through any gay alliances.

And homosexuality isn't traditionally to be found in the Islamic world? Most of those great Persian love poems are addressed to a "beardless youth." A culture that represses women gets homosexuality, including inside the harem.

It isn't traditionally celebrated with topless dykes on bikes parades. Our culture looks insane to much of the rest of the world.

Topless dykes are not a good idea. Without the protective covering on top, repeated erosion from wind and rain will eventually cause the dyke to fail. This could lead to considerable downstream flooding and eventually to an increase in insurance premiums.

No, I guess you're right: the harem women and the cucumbers did in private.

Islamic countries no doubt have their share of homosexuals/lesbians just like us, and they too must learn to celebrate this heritage. So I certainly hope that we make sure those Persian poems to beardless youths are made mandatory in Iraqi schools under our watch as a step toward subverting the their repressive Islamic attitudes toward the Love that Knows No Name. Don't scoff! There are professors with foundation grants at major universities and bureaucrats at USAID who are really thinking these thoughts.

It WAS the Love that Dares Not Speak It's Name. Then the Love That Won't Shut Up. Soon to become the Love That Asks, "You Talkin' to ME?!"
