Maybe I missed the part where Mark said this is related to homosexuality. I think what he is saying is that, according to certain philosophical viewpoints, we can't say these Swedes are wrong - we can't impose our beliefs.
And bestaility has its defenders. Peter Singer has argued that sex with certain species of animals is allowable. Isn't it hateful to deny him his relationships?

I understand if you are one of those irrational people who measures morality by their feelings and some unknowable "ick" factor. But truly sophisticated people use reason, not feeling, to make such choices. Well, if sexual intercourse is supposed to be a renewal of the marriage covenant (JP2 - Theology of the Body), given freely (i.e. both parties are capable of consent), open to life, and chastely (within marriage) then beastiality, pedophilia, homosexuality, adultery, fornication and contraception are the same sin.
