I've only read the first couple of pages (I'm tired and got to go to sleep), but this is EXACTLY how it is.

There is no knowledge of sexuality. What we are witnessing is boys and girls becoming uni-sex and thus expressing sexuality only through eroticism.

Wouldn't it be great if someone (like the Chuch) showed how sexuality can be experienced OUTIDE the eroticism displayed here?

EWWWW. It's this kinda stuff that makes me mad. This is what gets me blasting my insane Irish war songs and wanting to do something to fix this! Either that or flee...

I feel like Theoden before going to the battle of the Pelannor fields...riding to almost certain defeat, but riding out nonetheless. I'm pretty sure our culture will only get worse...but I'm not going to let it happen!

After six decades of inhabiting this world and also having recently gotten both of my children beyond high school, I am not at all surprised by this article.

That sex is pervasive in our society is an understatement and a cliche. And no, Mark, it is not simply the United States that offers this modern Sodom and Gomorrah. Try any European country, and many in Asia as well.

So called "Catholic" education is better than what the public schools offer in developing healthy and holy values. But not very much. A lot went on around the Catholic schools that would have fit right into the NYT article.

And why not? Why expect that pampered societies, including our own "poor" should act with discipline and integrity?

Position yourself anywhere in our society and the scene is much the same. From women Eucharistic ministers who degrade the Eucharist when they are clothed revealingly to John Kerry's daughter at Cannes...to cable, movies, television, plays, magazines at the supermarket. Name it, it's there.

But, you know, in spite of it all, many kids are really searching for meaning beyond the dumb parish teen clubs and the sex-tryst malls. Many kids grow up and out of it to be good people. Many kids will survive the garbage that our society has foisted upon them.
Some of them will become strong Christians and Jews--devout, family focused, and treasures in a world of garbage.
