Mark,
Those efforts are being coordinated in part by the Muslim Public Affairs Council and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, two groups that operate more or less as fronts for Middle Eastern terrorist organizations.

So they are working with terrorists at plotting attacks at the same time they are working with U.S., British and Canadian authorities at stopping them? How is this possible and not deadly and stupid??

Nonetheless, it matters. The article talks about instances where (without the use of torture even!) Muslims in the community have handed vital intelligence over and stopped major "operations".
The Totalerkrieg "Kill Them All!" geniuses in my comboxes, who also tend to be the Torture Advocates would, by their brutal and simplistic approach guarantee that such vital sources of intelligences in the Muslim community would dry up. Would *you* want to hand yourself over to authorities who like to waterboard if they think you know something? I wouldn't.

It's quite smart, actually. It's the same dynamic at work with crooked cops; you get to decide who the right "snitches" are.

I'm not convinced.
The above commenter is correct about CAIR, and the other heathen civil rights/terrorist symapathizer organizations.
The following are true statements because CAIR deleted them from a defamation law suit against a blogger:
[CAIR is an] organization founded by Hamas supporters….
• CAIR was started by Hamas members….
• CAIR … was founded by Islamic terrorists.
• CAIR is a fundamentalist organization dedicated to the overthrow of the United States Constitution and the installation of an Islamic theocracy in America.
• CAIR wishes nothing more than the implementation of a SHARIA law in American.
• [CAIR seeks to replace the government of the United States] with an Islamist theocracy using our own Constitution as protection....
• CAIR is here to make radical Islam the dominant religion in the United States and to convert our country into an Islamic theocracy along the lines of Iran.
Regarding the fabulous 'moderate muslim': to meet the defintion of moderate would constitute moslem heresy - like cafeteria Catholics. Those moderate mohammedans that exist are considered apostates by true believers.
I do not advocate exterminating all the brutes, yet.
A few more 9/11's, and we'll see where we need to go with that.

I hope more Muslims rise up against the extremists within their own community.
For all the "racial profiling" and "2nd class citizen status" they complain about in this country, the reality is that Muslims have endured the brunt of extremist attacks globally. For example, the Taliban regime in Afghanistan...extremists in Algeria murdered tens of thousands there in the 1990s...oppression of women in places like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan...
Muslims would benefit the most if the likes of Osama where stopped.

Rich:
Then you must also be in agreement with Mearsheimer and Walt and their article on The Israel Lobby and AIPAC and the influence they wield with the media and government.

Ah Marv. We can always count on St. Blog's most reliable Jew-baiter to provide a perfect example of moral equivalence.
And in response to your next post: yes, yes, I know; you don't hate Jews. Of course not. Just Israel, where five million of them live.

Ouch. Rich, that's something that needed to be said for a long, long time. Kudos for the well-deserved smackdown.
